Recent Government Changes in the Skilled Migration Industry

Posted on 01/07/10 in Company News, Migration News, No Comments

Recent government changes in the skilled migration industry have created additional need for adjustment to visa submissions and potentially higher work input for lodgements of company sponsorship applications.

The resulting changes to the skilled migration scheme continue to highlight the shift of the balance from independent skilled migrants to employer sponsored skilled migrants on one end and the shift towards local skilled labour in demand on the other. Some of the key changes reflecting the sponsoring businesses include the following:

  • Obligation to pay market wages for all visa streams (RSMS, ENS and 457)
  • Increased TSMIT to $51,400.00 for 457 visa streams
  • Fulfilment of the Training Benchmark Requirement now for ENS company sponsorships, in addition to the existing 457 company sponsorship training requirements
  • Inclusion of the detailed labour market test evidence to demonstrate company’s inability to employ a local employee in the nominated position

After many years of industry involvement and having gone through several industry reforms, BzMark Consulting has detailed understanding of the individual company sponsorship requirements as well as the ability to effectively handle any new changes. This strong industry expertise positions us well to assist both migration agents and various local businesses in preparing individually tailored business plans that deliver positive company sponsorship outcomes.

We prepare professional and purpose made business documents, in conjunction with migration professionals, to obtain regional business certification (where required) and company sponsorship based on RN, EN or 457 visa subclasses for both existing and new businesses. For those who have not worked with us before, our typical document layout comprises the following:

  • Business overview
  • Legal Entity & Ownership
  • Personnel Structure
  • Auditable Training Program Outline
  • Business Strategy
  • Need for paid employee
  • Sponsorship of the nominee
  • Labour Market Test
  • Nominated Salary and Evidence of the Market Salary Research
  • Three Year Financial Forecasts
  • Employment Contract
  • Job Description

In addition to the above and on a case to case basis we also provide required market research, business expertise and advice to get the local company fit for sponsorship rights. We use specifically prepared questionnaires for this purpose but whenever needed we can also directly liaise with the local company to obtain the required information from them.

All of the above is provided at the standard fee of $1,300.00 plus GST.

In the event of subsequent request for further information or clarification by DIAC or RCB, we also prepare timely and accurate supplements for all documents prepared by us free of charge.

Although our standard completion time is up to ten working days, we can also cater for urgent cases when and if required.

Today BzMark Consulting partners with an extensive number of Migration Agents both in Australia and overseas and we pride ourselves on delivering a high quality, personalised service to each one of our clients.
